CleanControl - Naturally clean
Just like other construction materials, profiles are also exposed to weathering and dirt and so require regular cleaning. The profine research section has developed a form of material treatment in which the profile largely cleans itself by using the principle of photocatalysis.
The treated surface contains tiny particles of titanium dioxide (TiO2), which have the effect that organic dirt is simply broken down by the influence of light and water. Therefore, buildings with large window surfaces in an exposed situation benefit most by giving a neat impression and cleaning costs can be cut drastically.

Similar to the processes in vehicle construction, the glass elements and PVC profiles are bonded with a special silicone adhesive which provides the elements with a considerably higher degree of structural strength. Structural glazing opens up a great deal more leeway and new design options in architecture. Thus glass units with extremely narrow window profiles can be used for visual design within the building.
